History

The Rietberg is a true family business. Even before world war two H. Freriks has been the owner of the property on which the Rietberg is now situated. On the property H. Freriks ran a sawmill. After world war two working in the sawmill wasn’t very profitable and with the timber that was still there he decided to build bungalows. Around 1947 he decided to rent the bungalows.

The forest plot has now grown into an area of 6 hectares and all wooden houses have disappeared. There are now 18 stone bungalows and 2 plastic chalets. Son Henk and his wife Josette have enlarged, modernized the bungalow park and given it its current appearance. The third generation of Freriks, grandsons Léon and Jos, are now taking over with great enthusiasm.
